The 15 most popular employee perks
Updated: Jan 12
A recent article appearing in "Employee Benefit News" made for some interesting reading. A poll of 1,227 working adults from benefits provider Unum, found that the most desired perks for employees have to do with flexible work options and absence management, rather than things like onsite gyms and pet-friendly offices.
Offering the survey-takers 15 different non-insurance or retirement-related benefits, the company asked them to choose their top five options. Coming in at number one, not surprisingly, was paid family leave garnering the top spot in 58% of respondents answers, but closely followed by remote/flexible working options. The following is the full list results, ranked by popularity.
Paid Family Leave
Flexible/Remote Work Options
Gym Membership or Onsite Fitness Center
Student Loan Repayment
Onsite Healthy Snacks
ID Theft Protection
Financial Planning Resources
Fitness Goal Incentives
Public Transit Assistance
Pet Friendly Offices
Dedicated Volunteer Hours
